About Doug Neubauer
Imprinted at an early age, Doug Neubauer, after graduating from college (with a degree in electrical engineering), found himself working at the video game company, Atari.
It was here where, apparently fulfilling his destiny, he created the classic video space games “Star Raiders” and “Solaris“.
After Atari, he went on to work at several startups in Silicon Valley, and currently works in Web Design and Search Engine Optimization in Portland Oregon.
He has a background in various Web programming languages:
- HTML, HTML5, xHTML, CSS
- PHP, MySQL
- Javascript, JQuery
As well as, C/C++, Verilog, VLSI systems architecture and FDTD modeling.
As time permits, Doug is a volunteer at FreeGeek.org.

Q. How do you pronounce “Neubauer“?
A. After a quick Google search… It looks like in America it’s pronounced “New·bow·er” with the accent on “New”, and in Germany or Austria it’s “Noi·bow·ar” or “Nie·bow·er” or Noy·bow·er.
